Time for reincarnations. Winter song.
GLASS CANDY - WARM IN THE WINTER (2011)
Glass candy, ages in the underground synthpop/italo scene, are from Portland and they are part of “Italians do it better” family, one of my favorite label, home of Chromatics and Desire(Drive soundtrack). Johnny Jewel is the brain behind this project and Ida No offers her voice. Perfect love ballad and synth stratification.
C’mon shout! Hey shout! I LOVE YOU

romantic post-punk forgotten band.
POLYROCK - ROMANTIC ME (1980)
They are real lost gems, from new york, influenced by minimalism with the production of the minimalism master Philip Glass. Often compared with Talking Heads, the cult on this band raised through the years because their vynils have never been available on cd before 2007.

SIGUE SIGUE SPUTNIK - LOVE MISSLE F1-11 (1985)
S.S.S. was a british band with heavy use of synths and with a glam attitude but the rhythm is typical of a late new wave. A very intresting band sponsored by ATARI!, the videogame company, with advertisings between a tracks and even in the tracks!. they reached the top 10 with bith this single and the album “Flaunt in”.

SPARKS - THE NUMBER ONE SONG IN HEAVEN (1979)
Sparks were an american rock band formed in the late sixties. They explored many different generes but in 1979, shocked by “i feel love”, they decided to team up with the producer Giorgio Moroder and turn into disco. The album, No. 1 song in heaven, had many other hit singles such as “Beat The Clock” and “La Dolce Vita”. Higly raccomended.

Italo real rarity i think…and i don’t know anything about this song. I just found it in a 1985 compilation.
ALAN ROSS - VALENTINO MON AMOUR (1985)
It has one of the best chorus of this era. I found a very strong similarity with Gino Soccio that made me think that probably he produced this track.

Tons of groove, the potion to punk.
ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA - LAST TRAIN TO LONDON (1979)
The 70’s where at the sunset and ELO was the one of the few symphonic rock group survived to the punk wave. With the album Discovery, ELO brings the groove and the disco sound into rock music and sets a model for many funk and electro groups of the 80’s.

SCOTCH - MIRAGE (1986)
Scotch was an italo disco band that had a great success in germany but they were quite unknown in the rest of eurodance area. This song however is a gem and many of you probably will recognise it because it was covered by the dance group Paps N Skar becoming a huge hit in the summer of 2004.

HUMAN LEAGUE - TOGHETER IN ELECTRIC DREAMS (1984)
This song is composed by Oakey, the lead singer of the super synth group Human league, and disco legend producer Giorgio Moroder. The song was the main theme of the film ‘Electric Dreams’, a trash 80’s flop, although the song was a massive hit staying in the british chart for 13 weeks.
